This Journey's Host

Paul Albanese is an award-winning golf course designer with over 30 years of experience in the field. He is also an avid golfer who has played on some of the most celebrated courses around the world. Paul attended Cornell University where he studied environmental and agricultural engineering, and was the captain of the golf team his senior year; he then received a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University. In his third year at Harvard, Paul created an independent studio in golf architecture, and was advised by nationally recognized landscape architect George Hargreaves. He also received the prestigious Penny White Grant for travel to Scotland to study the classic courses in golf architecture. In addition to creating golf designs around the world with his own firm, Paul was the Director of Golf Course Architecture at the University of Edinburgh’s College of Art in Scotland from 2005 through 2010. Paul has been a member of the esteemed American Society of Golf Course Architects since 2002, and he has written and lectured extensively on course architecture.
