There’s something irresistible about Ibiza. Some say it has to do with the magnetic pull of Es Vedrà, a craggy limestone landmark that rises out of the sea just off the island’s southwestern shore. Or maybe it is the island’s buzzy nightlife. Whatever the reason, this artists’ haven attracts an eclectic mix of Europeans who are also drawn to its bucolic, bohemian charm.

    3 Days: Essential Ibiza

Despite its partial reputation as a clubby resort destination, Ibiza offers a number of cultural pursuits in addition to an in contrast to its famous nightlife. Indagare can customize an itinerary to suit your interests and provide insider access. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

      Day 1: Ibiza Town

Begin your visit by exploring Ibiza Town, the island’s most historically intriguing settlement. The labyrinthin Dalt Vila is by far the most charming quarter to explore. Built within sturdy city walls on a hill overlooking the port and crowned by a beautiful 14th-century cathedral, exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site with a private guide makes for a glorious introduction to Ibiza. While in town, seek out the stone-paved streets of Sa Penya and the fascinating Archaeological Museum of Ibiza. Later, enjoy drinks and dinner at a hip place in town.

      Day 2: Ibiza by Boat

Spend a day on a boat charter to Formentera, a small island about 30 minutes away that is famous for its pristine white beaches (But note: nude sunbathing is allowed on most of them!). Make a stop for a picnic at Espalmador, a tiny islet clinging to Formentera by a shallow sandbar. Return to Ibiza and spend the rest of the day shopping in town or lounging at your hotel before dinner.

      Days 3-5: Beaches

No trip to Ibiza would be complete without abundant beach time—the island’s rocky coastline offers everything from romantic hidden coves to white expanses teeming with bronzed beauties. One favorite is Cala d’Hort, a small sandy cove fabled for its wonderful view of Es Vedrà, the limestone boulder that juts from the sea. Enjoy evenings at local hotspots and relaxed beachside fish shacks.
