Review

While the hotel’s external façade blends in with the city, there is an undeniable stylish elegance to the Villa Magna that lies just beneath. And, after a multi-million-dollar renovation, the hotel’s amenities are top-notch without the heavy Baroque feel of a hotel like the Ritz Madrid.

The rooms are elegant with subtle pops of color and feature handsome crown moldings, bold carpet patterns, classic writing desks and particularly comfortable beds that come with a pillow menu. Spacious marble bathrooms have separate tubs and rain showers, and most rooms have walk-in closets.  Among its 150 rooms and suites are options as expansive as the 2,000-plus-square-foot Anglada House Signature Suite, home to a 1,700-square-foot terrace, a private gym and stunning city views.

Although the hotel caters to business executives, abundant connecting rooms and several categories of suites make it a good option for traveling families. Rooms and suites overlook either the busy avenue La Castellana or the rooftops of the Salamanca district. The former offers the best views, and while traffic can be loud at certain times of day, commercial travelers who use their rooms solely for sleep may prefer that side.

The hotel offers several dining outlets. From the casual Flor y Nata, providing an intimate, homey atmosphere, to the buzzy Tarde.O and gastronomic**Amós Restaurant,**there is an option for every occasion.

For those who are seeking time to unwind away from the bustle of the city, there is no better place than the Sense Spa. Located on the ground floor of the building, it is easy to lose track of time in the bliss of one of the many treatments offered, whether you indulge in one from their extensive massage and facial menu or a simple manicure.

Who Should Stay

Couples, business travelers or families who prefer sleek accommodations and don’t mind being removed from the city’s main sights. The Salamanca location is ideal for die-hard shoppers, and museums are a 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride away.
