Dining room with a long wooden dining table and a bowl of lemons on the table

365 Restaurante - Son Brull Hotel & Spa

365, the restaurant inside the hotel Son Brull, an elegantly restored 18th-century monastery outside of charming Pollença, has no a la carte menu. Instead, Michelin-star chef Andreu Segura offers two nightly six-or-eight-course tasting menus, one of which is entirely vegetarian. Both offer wine pairings. Each dish is artistically presented, leveraging local ingredients. Although expensive, the excellent food and overall experience are worth it.

BAR - BODEGA BINIARAIX

This nondescript bar and bodega in the charming, small inland town of Biniaraix is a local favorite that has been discovered by the many hiking groups that love exploring the island. Sit at tables outside in the village square, watch the families and hikers stroll by and eat delicious simple food.

Street view of bar with outside seating

Bar Bosch

While Bar Bosch might not stand out at first—it has the standard old-school waiters, a worn counter laden with tapas and a tourist crowd— regulars know it’s a legendary favorite among local intellectuals and that it serves the best grilled sandwiches in town. During lunch and in the early evening, finding a seat at one of the outdoor tables may be a challenge, but it’s well worth the wait. Order a slice of the famously thick tortilla along with a lomo y queso (pork loin and cheese) sandwich while indulging in some of Palma’s best people-watching.

Bistro Son Brull

If you’re looking for a leisurely lunch in the countryside, the bistro at this Relais & Chateaux hotel is a favorite.

Ca's Patró March

This waterside seafood spot in the town of Deia has been an island must-dine for years. It’s the restaurant where scenes of the Night Manager were filmed. Celebrities, locals, boaters and travelers arrive in bathing suits and flip-flops but just because the dress is casual, don’t think you can walk in. Reservations are a must.

Outdoor Lounge at Ca's Xorc, Mallorca, Spain

Ca's Xorc

This restaurant set in an old finca boutique hotel is located in the hills above the town of Sóller. The dining room is where the olive press originally sat, so the space is airy, with high, vaulted ceilings, and tables are not placed too close together. As expected, the extensive wine list is excellent, and dishes are refined and delicious. Favorite dishes include scallops with prawns and mushrooms and herb-crusted Tramuntana lamb.

Outdoor Lounge at Coast by East, Mallorca, Spain

Coast by East

German-owned Coast by East might be an offshoot of a Hamburg empire, but this restaurant in Port Adriano is all Mallorca. An outdoor hot spot on the water, Coast by East attracts beautiful people—and their megayachts. The cuisine is a fusion of Asian and Mediterranean and the restaurant is open all day.

Duke

The uber-relaxed Duke is a surfer paradise, which is understandable when you consider the restaurants is owned and operators by surfer dudes. Order burgers and light bites at the picnic bench style tables and enjoy the young vibe of the small, cozy eatery.

Bar at El Olivo, Mallorca, Spain

El Olivo

One of the best meals I’ve had on the island was in the fine-dining restaurant at La Residencia. Located in a 500-year-old olive press, it is a sublimely romantic spot; during the five-course chef’s menu, which included an unforgettable foie gras-stuffed pigeon served on the terrace, my husband and I witnessed an ecstatic wedding proposal.
