Though technically part of Andalusia and the Costa del Sol, Marbella is its own seaside entity, and has been the vacation destination of glamorous sun worshippers for decades. The area is home to stylish beach clubs, charming restaurants, excellent golf courses and world-class resorts.

5 Days: The Best of Marbella Relaxation

An ideal trip to Marbella will include plenty of poolside lounging, some authentic Spanish tapas and excellent spa treatments. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Days 1 & 2: Biking and Diving

Marbella is all about taking it easy, lounging pool- or beachside with breaks for leisurely meals. For active travelers, Indagare can arrange a guided bike tour, which includes Marbella’s Old Town as well as more rigorous routes farther afield. A Wine & Tapas bike tour covers a bit of history along with Andalusian treats. For scuba divers, the coast of Costa del Sol features wrecks, reefs, underwater mountains and caves and several PADI-certified dive centers line the shore.

    • Day 3: Boat Day

Enjoy a full day of yachting in the Mediterranean towards Gibraltar with Indagare’s preferred charter partner. Basic water toys and snorkeling equipment will be available on board, and larger water activities such as jet-skiing and wakeboarding are also available. You will have a lunch that includes a sushi platter, macaroons, sandwiches, and other snacks.

    • Days 4 & 5: Golf and Day Trips

The Alhambra in Granada, an expansive ancient town built in the 13th century, is the biggest tourism attraction in Spain. (The drive time from Marbella is two hours each way.) In the other direction, Ronda is a small Andalusian town that straddles two sides of the Tajo del Ronda, a narrow gorge 500 feet deep. (The drive time from Ronda is one hour each way.)

“Finca Cortesin was lovely! The rooms were perfect. One day, we chartered a boat and went to Gibraltar, which was another highlight. We played golf, went to the Finca beach club and had lunch there.”

“What makes the south of Spain so fantastic is that every turn down a calle, stop-off in a remote mountain town and meal next to a local leads to an interaction, suggestion or invitation that both deepens and broadens your experience. Andalusians are social, congenial and they share a certain affinity for life that percolates into their daily exchanges and possess a unique ability to develop a rapport with those around them.”
