One of Geneva’s most fashionable restaurants, Le Café des Banques is a favorite in town for contemporary fine dining. Patrons can enjoy wine, cheese or an afternoon coffee at this cozy café. Grab a table near the window so you can people-watch the locals in Carouge’s main square. Consider a visit when the fruit and vegetable markets fill the square (on Wednesdays and Saturdays mornings from 6:30AM to 1:00PM).
Café Léo Restaurant
Café Leo bills itself as a Parisian-style bistro, but the menu here skews Italian with classics (excellent salads, a popular veal scaloppine with marsala, and various pastas. Its sidewalk seating is a lovely spot to people-watch while slowly enjoying an espresso.
Chez Calvin
Owned by Chef Fabian Affentranger, Chez Calvin is a beloved brasserie and bar serving up french specialties in a lively atmosphere. There is an extensive wine selection to accompany the often-ordered fish and steak mains. The brasserie sometimes hosts pop-up residencies with visiting chefs as well.

Crudo7, from Chef Fabian Affentranger and Chef Marco Garfagini, is a lively, fine dining experience in Geneva. Delivering an exciting Mediterranean-inspired menu, Crudo7 is focused on raw fish (there are always seven on the menu, hence the name) and light seafood dishes. But if you’re looking for something a bit heavier, you can’t go wrong with the pasta specialties.

This casual pizzeria, located nearby the Jet d’Eau, is great for families and those looking to grab a quick bite.

In the village of Hermance, about 20 minutes outside of Geneva, this charming country restaurant serves sophisticated, farm-fresh fine dining in a dreamy setting. Visitors in summer months should request tables in the garden, but it’s also worth stopping by in colder months, when you can eat by the fireplace. Menu highlights include truffle toast and salt-crusted baked chicken, as well as Crepes Suzette for dessert.

This local pizzeria is great for couples and families. They don’t take reservations, so you may have to cozy up to the bar for a drink or two until your table is ready. Know that the restaurant can be noisy during peak times.

Everything from the naan, freshly baked in the restaurant’s tandoori oven, to the extensive Swiss wine list, is superb. Its stylish interior is decorated with vibrant Indian reds and purples.
Restaurant Au Vieux Carouge
While the interiors may look a bit bland, insiders know Au Vieux Carouge serves the best cheese fondue in town. Located in Carouge, this local hot spot fills up for both lunch and dinner, so be sure to reserve a table before arriving. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Located in the heart of the Old Town, this is a classic spot known for its excellent cheese fondue.
Restaurant Les Armures
In Geneva’s Old Town, Restaurant les Armures is a favorite for traditional Swiss cuisine, served in chalet-inspired dining rooms or on an outdoor terrace in warmer months. Locals consider it to have some of the best fondue in town, and menus also have classics like raclette and rösti potatoes, plus excellent fish, meat and vegetarian-friendly entrees (perch from Lake Geneva, veal cutlets, vegetable tarts).
