Review

The arrival at Riffelalp sets the stage for an incredible stay—travelers take the Gronergrat train to the Riffelalp station where they are whisked by snowmobile to the property by the resort’s friendly staff. With direct ski access and a host of amenities, this pampering resort draws active families looking to make the most of the region’s dynamic adventure offerings.

The traditional alpine interiors and expansive mountain views create a distinct sense of place. The 65 accommodations are offered in the "Chalet" and "Nostalgie" styles. (Most guests prefer the "Chalet" rooms and suites, which are more spacious and located in the main building.) Chalet rooms have blonde-wood paneling and flooring, great views, comfortable beds and modern marble bathrooms. For families looking to splurge, the spacious two-bedroom Matterhorn Suite looks out directly at the mountain for which it is named.

On property, there are four restaurants (two of which are closed in the summer), a full spa with an indoor and outdoor pool, a bowling alley, tennis court, fitness room, kids club, ski shop and more. As such and because of its secluded location, most guests stay on property for the majority of their stay.
