Review
The stunning desert of Wadi Rum is made even more memorable by a night spent within its grounds. When you stay at a luxury tented camp, you can enjoy desert remoteness with the convenience of modern luxuries like hot showers. After days spent hiking, dune surfing or exploring by camel, 4×4, hot air balloon or hang glider, dinner is served by candlelight in a Bedouin tent alongside other guests.
Bedouin culture is known for its hospitality, and it really shines here; the staff are attentive without being overbearing. There is no WiFi at this eco-luxury camp, allowing guests to really unplug and immerse themselves in their incredible surroundings. Discovery Bedu Camp has a green-building philosophy, allowing it to operate in ultimate seclusion without impact: all water is recycled, and the tents are built on adjustable and removable platforms and are manufactured using a combination of steel and wood designed specifically to reduce environmental impact and ensure high performance with changing weather conditions. The camp has six identical tents (there are king and twin room options) and two new luxury tents a short walk from the main camp, offering an even more intimate and personalized experience. The luxury tents have the nicest furnishings and an upstairs roof deck perfect for stargazing. There are two swing beds at the camp and multiple sitting areas with couches and fire pits set up outside the tents creating private spaces for each guest.
One night here may feel too fast, while two nights provides the perfect amount of time to truly disconnect and relax. If you opt for a two-night stay, one evening you will be served a traditional Bedouin meal where the chef cooks the food under the sand for three hours via charcoal before serving, and the next night is a BBQ-style dinner.

Who Should Stay
A night or two in Wadi Rum should be on everyone’s Jordan to-do list and Discovery Bedu is the top option.
From an Indagare member: “The trip to Wadi Rum was very interesting. We even stopped to take photos with a 3 day old camel. Wadi Rum blew my mind! It was my favorite. The camp is very nice as I am sure you know and Mohamed, the manager is a very sweet person. There was only one other couple staying. The tents are very comfortable. We had been told by friends that we would not get alcohol at a Wadi Rum camp but that was not the case. There was plenty of wine (we called a head to check). It was included in the rate.”
