    2 Days: Essential Nashville

The obvious sights are music-related, but Nashville also boasts excellent parks for outdoor activities, a wonderful art gallery and a number of mini-neighborhoods ideal for exploring. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

      Day 1

Satisfy your early-morning cravings at classics like Pancake Pantry or Marché. Walk around Vanderbilt’s campus and do a little shopping in the nearby Hillsboro Village, then visit the Frist Center for Visual Arts. Then, get a sense of Music City by driving around (fun neighborhoods include Green Hills, The Gulch, Germantown and East Nashville), and make sure to swing by the Country Music Hall of Fame. Enjoy dinner at one of Nashville hot spot eateries, and afterwards, hit the honky-tonk bars on Broadway for karaoke and dancing.

      Day 2

Begin the day with a tour of Belle Meade Plantation or Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art, both of which are a 15-minute drive from downtown Nashville. Then, head to the lively 12 South neighborhood for lunch and ice cream at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. This area also boasts some lovely boutiques, so after eating, browse the shops, including Imogene + Willie, Draper James, White’s Mercantile, Cadeau and Savant. After shopping, head to your hotel to change before a show at the Ryman Auditorium or the Bluebird Café.

      Day 3

After breakfast at a Nashville classic, spend an optional additional day in the city visiting Franklin, a charming nearby town that has some lovely shops and restaurants. The drive there is particularly beautiful.

Indagare's Missy Weil
“Nashville is all about music, so, to get the full experience, all visitors should see a concert or show. If possible, plan a trip around a show at the Ryman; it’s my favorite venue!”
