  • 3 Days: Essential New Orleans-LP

    3 Days: Essential New Orleans

The Big Easy is a melting pot of Creole, French, Cajun and American culture, which makes it one of the most uniquely artistic cities in the South. With a customized itinerary that includes classes and guided touring, you can make the most of your time in the Crescent City. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day One:

Spend your first day exploring the historical French Quarter. Save a sunset stroll for the pastel colored Creole cottages and shotgun houses. Stop by Carousel Bar, a rotating bar in the Hotel Monteleone, for cocktail hour before feasting on local cuisine. Most restaurants fall under the category of “local cuisine,” which can be anything from fried oyster po’boys at Domilise’s to duck breast with creamy seared brussel sprouts at Boucherie, finished off with a moonshine root beer float at Cochon.

    • Day Two:

Further immerse yourself in the cultural history of NOLA with a visit to the National World War 2 Museum or the Louisiana State Museum. Indagare can also arrange a guided tour of the famous cemeteries. Then, indulge in another decadent dinner at one of the French Quarter favorites, before spending a jazz-fueled evening at one of the local music halls on Frenchman Street or farther uptown at Tipitina’s. End the evening at the unofficial headquarters, Café du Monde, for a late-night beignet.

    • Day Three:

On your final day, take the St. Charles Avenue streetcar through the oak-lined avenues of the Garden District, where you can enjoy some antique shopping, and book a table at Commander’s Palace for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. Spend the afternoon soaking in music, culture and martinis before heading to the airport, satisfied and sleepy for your flight home.

"New Orleans was wonderful and we loved the Ace Hotel. It was very vibrant, and the rooftop pool lounge was full and fun. The live music on Friday night was great, and dinner at Le Petit Grocery was outstanding."

“Like many historic cities that have experienced growth throughout centuries, the Crescent City developed organically. As a result, New Orleans feels less like a coherent city and more like a conglomerate of multiple hamlets merging to form a vivacious place—greater than the sum of its parts.”
