At a Glance
A golfer's paradise, Sea Island offers something for everyone thanks to a plethora of activities and a serene, private vibe.
Review
Sea Island is one of the top resorts in the country. Despite additions in the early 2000s—a 65,000-square foot spa and refurnished rooms—the property’s charming air of old-school elegance remains (jackets are required at dinnertime and classes are offered in both clay shooting and etiquette). This is, after all, part of the Golden Isles of Georgia and prominent East Coast families have been coming since 1928.
The property boasts three renowned golf courses and a wide array of activities to keep guests occupied, ranging from scavenger hunts and sandcastle competitions to dance classes and fishing trips. The range of accommodations is equally diverse, with everything from secluded oceanfront villas to family-friendly cottages, suiting groups as well as couples.
Who Should Stay
Those looking for a seaside escape that can be as active or indulgent as one wishes.
Getting There
The resort is an hour-and-a-half drive from the Jacksonville and Savannah airports, both of which are serviced by most major airlines.
