Golf & Tennis

For a place that collects and rations its rainwater, Bermuda has a lot of golf courses and tennis courts. Some of the more prestigious ones require a club membership, such as Coral Beach Club and the Mid Ocean Club. For help with booking a tee time or tennis court, contact Indagare’s Bookings Team.

Hamilton Town

Located on a scenic harbor, the island's main hub and capital in Central Bermuda is defined by the charming, colorful storefronts that line the two main thoroughfares: Reid Street and Front Street. There are a few cute shops and cafés that make it worth a short stroll through town, especially if you time your visit around lunch or before dinner.

It is located a short drive from the airport and most of the island’s businesses are here, along with the Botanical Gardens and the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art. Other sites of interest include the Historical Society Museum (Queen St; 441-295-2487), the House of Assembly (21 Parliament St; 441-292-7408), where Parliament sessions are held, and the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (40 Crow Ln; 441-292-7219), where there’s a shipwreck gallery and they offer regular glow worm cruises.

On Friday and Saturday nights, most locals and visitors end up at either Port O’Call and Café Cairo (Front St; 441-295-5155). Most establishments are closed all day Sunday, including many restaurants, so plan accordingly.

Royal Naval Dock Yard

This historic area (now the island's main port) has several museums and the oldest fort on the island, The Keep, as well as the National Museum of Bermuda. History buffs will enjoy learning about the island's long and involved maritime history; the fort served as a British base between Halifax and Nova Scotia as well as the West Indies until 1951. Indagare can help arrange private museum or historical tours.

Sail Bermuda

Heading out on the water is a great way to get a better sense of the island. Caleb Zulli and his wife Marilyn run half- and full-day excursions on two boats—a 47-foot catamaran or a 51-foot monohull. Snorkeling gear and paddle boards or kayaks are available for use during the trip. Drinks and lunch are also available. Indagare can help arrange experiences like this one on (or off) the water.

St. George Town

St. George Town, once the island’s capital, is now a UNESCO World Heritage site with charming, twisty cobblestoned streets as well as the State House, 400-year-old St. Peter’s Church and several forts that also date to the 1600s. Located on the island's East End, it is worth a visit to see prime examples of British Colonial architecture and get a sense of the oldest continuously occupied English settlement in the New World.

Trunk Island

This seven-acre island in Harrington Sound, a quick boat ride from the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo (a.k.a. BAMZ), is now a nature preserve and educational foundation that provides local programs about the area's flora and fauna and conservation efforts in and around Bermuda. Indagare can help arrange private tours to learn about the wildlife on and around the island.
