Art Mel’s

To experience a lesser-known side of Bermuda, stop for a meal at Art Mel’s, a local favorite that is known for its fish sandwiches, with your choice of sauce (or not). They come overflowing and are nearly a pound in weight. Pair ones with a Barritt’s Ginger Beer, another island specialty. There is another outpost on Water Street in St. George.

Bailey’s Ice Cream Parlour

Located right across from the Swizzle Inn, Bailey’s is a local favorite. The ice cream parlor itself is simple, but its homemade ice creams are not, with exotic flavors like dark ‘n’ stormy and rum raisin. Bailey’s is located close to the airport, so consider stopping here before your flight home.

Mickey’s Bar & Bistro

If you could only dine at one beachside restaurant in Bermuda, this is the one. Mickey’s is set on Elbow Beach, arguably the best on the island, and has a casual, fun vibe. The lunch menu offers beach-casual fare like burgers, grilled fish, salads, pizzas and pastas, while the dinner menu is upscale Mediterranean, with dishes including seafood risotto, tuna tartare and Tuscan ribs. The food isn’t remarkable, but the setting is stunning.

Waterlot

This 350-year old steakhouse on the waterfront at the Fairmont in Southampton serves up classic dishes such as oysters Rockefeller and Porterhouse steak, along with locally caught fish. It's old-school and a little  formal after a day at the beach, but The Dock, the nearby lounge with a water view, is a nice place to chill and enjoy a craft cocktail (or catch the sunset) before a meal.
