Review
Though the Ventana resort itself is adults-only, its luxury “glampsite” accepts children and is a great option for families, couples and friends looking for a private immersion in the natural splendor of Big Sur. (Tents are equipped with a queen bed and have a two-person occupancy, so families would need to reserve multiple tents near each other.) Home to 15 safari-style canvas tents, the glamping site has both “Redwood Glampsites” and “Canyon Glampsites,” the latter of which are even further removed from the rest of the site and accessible only by foot, offering true seclusion in the canyon. And glampers won’t have to sacrifice the creature comforts of a typical hotel stay: glampsites feature daily housekeeping service, morning coffee and tea, instant hot and cold potable water, heated blankets, hot-water bottles for heating the beds, electric lamps and power outlets with USB ports—in addition to charming amenities such as a wood-burning fire pit and build-your-own s’mores kit.
