Constructed as the United States’ pavilion for the 1967 World Fair Expo 67, the futuristic Biosphere occupies an iconic spot on the Île Sainte-Hélène. After being partially destroyed by a fire in 1976, the spherical dome was purchased by Environment Canada and reopened as a museum in 1995. With a number of interactive exhibits, the museum is dedicated to educating the public about environmental concerns like climate change and sustainable development.
