Mont-Tremblant

See Website

A recreated French village at the base of one of the eastern Canada’s highest peaks, Mont-Tremblant is a year-round destination that will delight outdoor enthusiasts. An easy 90-minute drive from Montreal, the mountain offers the best skiing and snowboarding on the East Coast, with over 660 acres of terrain, a summit of 2,871 feet and excellent snow conditions, as well as ice-skating and tubing. In the summer, Lake Louise at the base of the mountain is a gorgeous spot for boating, swimming, canoeing and fishing. And in the fall, the hills erupt in shades of gold, crimson and orange. At the base of the mountain, the charming town has a smattering of sportswear shops, charming restaurants and colorful architecture. The top accommodation is the Fairmont, a four-star property that is ski in/ski out and great for families because there is private tubing on site as well as a heated freeform outdoor pool. Families who visit in the summer and want to be on the lake should stay at the grand lodge-inspired Hotel Quintessence with its spacious suites, infinity-edge pool and direct lake access. In Mont-Tremblant village, don’t miss a traditional meal at Le Savoie, a darling chalet with alpine flair and excellent raclette and fondue. Those with a sweet tooth will adore the maple candy at Cabane a Sucre (Sugar Shack) where you can make your own frozen maple lollipops on the snow barrels.
