Palm Beach

The pool at the Omphoy
Palm Beach is best experienced during the winter, when the population swells from 10,000 to 30,000 and the parties are in full swing. The social season begins just after Thanksgiving and lasts until late April/early May. The down side: golf tee times, parking spots and reservations at top restaurants are tough to come by. During the summer, the place is fairly depopulated, and homes are boarded up in anticipation of hurricane season—but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some rather enjoy having the island to themselves.
