Opened in October 2019, the Four Seasons Los Cabos is a beautifully designed, full-service beachfront resort with a swimmable beach and top-notch amenities in Costa Palmas, one of the more remote parts of Baja California Sur.

Indagare Loves

  • The hotel’s removed location on the largely-undeveloped East Cape, a 1.5 hour drive away from the hustle and bustle of Cabo San Lucas.
  • The two-mile-long calm, swimmable beach: on some days as still as a lake.
  • The large state-of-the-art fitness center and surrounding tennis courts, volleyball, basketball court and Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Review

While the resort’s secluded East Cape location means an hour drive from the airport (as opposed to most other hotels’ 25-minute drive), its location allows guests to avoid the congestion of Los Cabos and experience the largely undeveloped, wilder side of the Cape. In addition, the East Cape is close to some of the area’s best outdoor activities such as snorkeling and scuba in Cabo Pulmo National Park, hiking and dune buggy rides across deserted beaches.

The property has been designed to blend in with its desert surroundings, so the landscaping features beautiful local plant species such as cacti and succulents that are so carefully placed throughout the resort that as the sun sets, they cast shadows that make it feel more like art than landscaping. The 140 modern rooms (including 27 suites) are spread across two-story units along the beach and pools. Interiors are high-ceilinged, open-air, and decorated in earthy tones with pops of color from Mexican-made handicrafts and art. All of the rooms feel oversized, with a large terrace or balcony in each, a full-size sofa bed in the sitting area adjacent to the bed and both a shower and tub.

With a tranquil, swimmable beach, six swimming pools (including adults-only and family-friendly pools), the serene Oasis spa with 10 treatment rooms, a large fitness center with multiple sport courts, an 18-hole golf course and a Kids Club, the resort has all its guests need to stay entertained on a relaxing beach vacation.

The property also has five restaurants and bars, including Estiatorio Milos, an outpost of chef Costas Spiliadis’ acclaimed Mediterranean seafood restaurant in New York; Casa de Brasa, a poolside brasserie that serves Mexican favorites; El Puesto ceviche bar; Ginger’s all-day eclectic café; and Limón, farm-to-table al fresco dining surrounded by a lemon tree grove. Since Cabo San Lucas’ restaurants are a one-and-a-half to two-hour-drive from the Four Seasons, guests will have to be okay with cycling through the on-site dining options available.

In a destination where hotel competition is high and good service makes or breaks the experience, the Four Seasons team strikes the perfect balance so that guests feel well taken care of but not constantly bothered. Guests are not assigned butlers, but rather interact with various warm and friendly staff members throughout their stay—all of whom are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure guests are comfortable and happy.

Who Should Stay

Families and couples who are willing to trade the option of off-property meals for a quiet, more authentic location away from town. Los Cabos is a one to one-and-a-half-hour drive away so guests should be willing to spend the entirety of their trip on the East Cape.
