Review
Located on the southern coast of Cabo, 30 minutes by car from Cabo San Lucas town and 45 minutes by car from Los Cabos International Airport, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is a brilliant example of Japanese design that still retains a local feel, thanks to locally sourced materials and artwork. The 200-room property is sleek and sprawling, and is one of the more Zen hotels in the area, making it ideal for couples or solo travelers seeking a break from their busy lives. More than half of the rooms at the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos are suites, but all have a neutral color scheme with lots of natural wood. The bathrooms, in particular, are a highlight, with Natura Bissé bath products and traditional Japanese soaking tubs. The rooms here feel like a ryokan that has been outfitted with luxury amenities.
Co-owned by Robert DeNiro and famed chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos has, unsurprisingly, a great culinary program. The star restaurant is, of course, Nobu, which occupies a beautiful dining room with striking Pacific Ocean views. The restaurant serves classic dishes such as spicy tuna crispy rice, miso eggplant and sushi (it is worth noting that it is quite expensive). Another popular restaurant chain that planted roots at the Nobu is Malibu Farm, which serves delicious farm-to-table fare such as salmon Niçoise salad, avocado pizza and coconut-tofu curry. Pacific Restaurant serves upscale Mexican cuisine, and there is also a pool bar and coffeeshop for mid-day snacking.
While most guests at the serene Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will want to relax and lounge at one of the four on-property pools during the day (we advise splurging on one of the cabanas that is outfitted with a bathroom and TV), they can also make use of nearby golf courses and the almost 14,000-square-foot wellness center. Facilities here include a spa, salon, hydrotherapy circuit and gym that has the latest fitness equipment as well as yoga/Pilates and spinning studios. The hotel also offers daily complimentary workout classes, as well as in-room yoga mats.
