And at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, it hardly disappoints, especially if you’re looking for a sleek (dare we say sexy) resort hideaway—and the promise of a celebrity sighting. With its 84 suites and villas overlooking the Sea of Cortez, managed by Rosewood, you’ll find a polished Mexican resort with romantic sunset views and plenty of space for relaxing–whether you’re strolling the beach or at one of the infinity pools. Villas are the top option here, offering more space and privacy, along with butler service, plunge pools, indoor and outdoor living rooms (and showers). Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors allow the entire villa to be open-air—and many have rooftop patios overlooking the beach.

The Standout: The 28,000-square-foot Ty Warner Mansion (named for the resort’s owner and Beanie Babies founder), designed by architect Jorge Torres and interior designer Robert Couturier and featuring a 328-footlong beachfront infinity pool.

Don’t Miss: Sushi and ceviche by the bar, along with a tasting (and advice on what to try) from the resort’s tequila master.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso Review

Sleek, chic and undeniably sexy, Las Ventanas is a jewel in the crown of Ty Warner Properties, whose other holdings include the Four Seasons New York and Santa Barbara’s San Ysidro Ranch. The resort has 84 sumptuous guest suites, most of which are housed in seven three-story buildings with balconies spilling over with pink bougainvillea. All are huge (the smallest is 960 sq. ft.) and some feature outdoor showers, private plunge pools, rooftop patios and alfresco Jacuzzis. Details throughout are exquisite and, for the most part, handmade in Mexico, including beautiful pebble-inlaid floors and headboards and wrought-iron accents.

13 gorgeous luxury villas have their own infinity pool, massive bathrooms with outdoor showers and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass bedroom and living doors that can be utilized to make the entire villa open air. The most recent addition to the villa repertoire is the Ty Warner Mansion, which has a prime beachfront position and more than 28,000 sq. ft. The mansion is the ultimate indulgence: created by architect Jorge Torres and interior designer Robert Couturier, it includes a 328-ft. long beachfront infinity pool that wraps around the front of the property. Guests of the mansion can enjoy expertly prepared meals from their dedicated chef or even a fireworks display upon request.

The destination-specific design at Las Ventanas extends to the exteriors where the gardens’ cactus and agave and aloe plants evoke the Mexican desert. Suite clusters 301 to 308 and 501 to 508 are closest to the main restaurants and swimming pool. Those seeking more privacy should book suites 801–803. There are 20 oceanfront rooms, located behind the adults-only swimming pool, for guests who want direct access to the beach beyond (these rooms are not very private).

There’s no shortage of indulgences at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, where in-room amenities include telescopes, wood-burning fireplaces and sewing kits to match guests’ wardrobes. The staff-to-guest ratio is four-to-one, although this is barely noticeable as a series of underground tunnels maintain the exclusive, private vibe. The personalized poolside service is top-notch—the slightest suggestion of movement from a lounge chair will send an attendant running. Las Ventanas has soul and pampering here comes down to small pleasures.

Las Ventanas is open to children year-round but there’s no kids’ club, and the general atmosphere is decidedly adult. Those not staying here will still want to grab a bite at the popular sushi and ceviche bar with its large variety of tequilas and knowledgeable tequila master.
