Sayulita

Sayulita

Once a dusty surfer town, Sayulita has transformed from a quiet expat enclave to a buzzing tourist hotspot, no doubt thanks to the eclectic boutiques and delicious restaurants that have set up shop in recent years. Located twenty minutes north of Punta Mita. Sayulita is an absolute must for those seeking a more bohemian alternative to Punta Mita’s groomed golf courses. Although popular year-round, Sayulita in the winter is a Mecca for surfers and a fun place for people watching over margaritas. Days are filled with inexpensive fish-taco lunches and afternoon surf sessions, while nights bring beach bonfires and reggae concerts. If you want to spend just a couple of hours exploring, have your hotel arrange for a driver to wait for you, since the local taxis, though safe, are not necessarily comfortable.
