Review
The Rosewood San Miguel De Allende is the city’s stand-out property. Located on a quiet side street, the hotel is still conveniently within walking distance to the main square (the Parroquia church is less than 10 minutes away on foot), but removed from the crowds.
Having been built from the ground up in 2011, the property is sprawling, with 67 rooms and suites spread throughout. Rooms are spacious and some suites have private plunge pools (all have terraces or balconies). The only hotel in town with connecting room options, this is an ideal choice for families. There are also 29 beautiful one-to-five-bedroom residences that can be booked for a more private, home-away-from-home experience. The residences are located in a separate, gated area right next to the main hotel and include access to all of the hotel's amenities. Each residence is equipped with its own rooftop space with a hot-tub and Weber grill—ideal for private entertaining!
The Rosewood's buzzy deck area has three separate pools, one of which is adults-only, and a daytime restaurant Agua. There is a large fitness center with a neighboring studio for classes. The Sense spa, which sits next door, includes eight large treatment rooms.
Guests enjoy the open-air cooking classes at one of the property’s three outdoor kitchen areas for immersive cooking and mixology classes, the hosted art workshops and playing tennis on the clay courts set in the hotel’s beautiful gardens. There is a fantastic boutique selling high-end goods from all over Mexico and the art gallery, Sisal, provides many of the pieces scattered throughout the hotel.
The culinary options on property are outstanding: 1826 is the main Mexican restaurant (be sure to visit for brunch on Sundays) and the bar across the hall boasts over 120 types of tequila. Locals and visitors alike agree that the rooftop bar, Luna, has the best view in town. Indagare Tip: Arrive early for sunset to beat the crowds.
