Review
For travelers who want a comfortable five-star experience with all the bells and whistles, the Four Seasons Washington D.C. is the most reliable option. Located just off the C&O Canal in Georgetown, near Washington Harbor, it is within easy walking distance of a slew of restaurants, shops and the charming Federal style brick row houses of this historic neighborhood. Foodies will appreciate the excellent on-site Michael Mina restaurant, Bourbon Steak, set in a beautiful space designed by David Rockwell. There’s also a three-level fitness center featuring a two-lane lap pool, hot tub, a multitude of machines (including Peloton and spin bikes), an outdoor terrace and a pretty spa. The hotel is very welcoming to children and makes a great pick for families. (My 10-year-old loved getting his own kid-sized robe and special welcome cookies with his name spelled out in chocolate.)
Rooms are spacious; well-appointed with contemporary furnishings, brocade curtains and marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs; and feel fresh, colorful and vibrant. As of September 2019, all of the presidential suites are newly renovated, and some of the Georgetown and Capital suites have new, comfortable terraces. The hotel keeps a car on hand to provide complimentary shuttle service (on a first come, first served basis) for guests to nearby sights.
Indagare Tip
The property is completing major renovations in the West Wing for April 2024 (expected launch; the hotel is still functioning as normal with minimal to no disruptions). The property is also working on adding Four Seasons Residences, next door.
