Calypso’s Christiane Celle opened this bookstore-cum-gallery right next to East Hampton’s Calypso large boutique, in a slender, all-white space. The art house book publishers on sale include a well-edited mix of Te Neues, Taschen and Aperture, among others. There are several book signings and events scheduled for every summer. Clic also has locations in New York City (255 Centre St, Nolita) and St. Barth's (Rue de la République, Gustavia).

Cynthia Rowley

Rowley famously sold her four-bedroom East Hampton house in favor of a smaller, more rustic Montauk cottage, where she carries playful and sophisticated (as well as playfully sophisticated) designs.

J. McLaughlin

Kevin and Jay McLaughlin’s madras and seersucker shorts and colorful ribbon belts and khakis are perfect for a day at Maidstones or any of the other elite Hampton country clubs. Joey Wölffer opened her first shop in 2010: the Styleliner, a truck transformed into a moving boutique for Wölffer’s curation of fashions that traversed much of the U.S.

In 2015, she opened her brick-and-mortar location in Sag Harbor. Inside, find fabulously beachy, stylish and sophisticated pieces from under-the-radar designers.

Life’style is a contemporary fashion boutique located in Sag Harbor. Since Debbie Rudoy, owner and resident style guru, opened Life’style in 2007 it has become a town favorite. The shop offers a mix of luxury basics, denim, accessories, designer finds, day-to-evening wear and unusual pieces, all with style, versatility and comfort in mind.

Visiting Roberta Freymann’s Manhattan boutique was a prerequisite for many fashionable upper Eastsiders en route to the Hamptons: it makes sense then that a store would finally open out east. Freymann is a true global nomad who speaks five language and stocks her store with exotic (yet reasonably priced) clothes and jewelry she picks up while traveling. Gorgeous tunics, caftans and skirts; sequined belts and sandals and handcrafted bags and jewelry are some of the things you can expect.

During a fashion career that included being a model for Karl Lagerfeld and an editor for British Vogue, Tiina Laakkonen honed her Finnish roots and good taste. The result is this well-curated store of clothing, jewelry and home goods. The inventory supplied by Scandinavian artists and international designers shares a bespoke design and penchant for quality. It’s the kind of shop where you might stop in for a tank dress, and leave with a pair of high tops and a mohair throw.

Urban Zen

After Donna Karan’s husband died of cancer, the designer and East Hampton homeowner founded the Urban Zen Foundation, a philanthropic organization that, among many other things, aims to bring Eastern-based practices like yoga into the Western medical paradigm. She also opened Urban Zen, a lifestyle boutique that carries clothing from a variety of designers (including herself) as well as Balinese furniture, antique jewelry and a collection of books on wellness and healing, in NYC’s West Village. Karan also opened an outpost in Sag Harbor, already home to a number of yoga and health studios, that does double-duty as a space for rotating art exhibits. Like the one in NYC, the Sag Harbor boutique gives a portion of all sales to the Urban Zen Foundation.
