Chef Michael White is a veteran of restaurants that perfectly balances lofty ambitions in the kitchen with refined dining spaces. Housed in the space that was occupied by San Domenico for many years, right across the street from Central Park, Marea is heavily focused on seafood (marea means tide in Italian) and vegetarians and carnivores will be limited in their choices. All is expertly prepared and Marea has garnered rave reviews since opening in 2009. The New York Times gave it a three-star review.
