Set on the edge Madison Square Park, The New York EDITION, which opened in 2015, brings a chic, downtown vibe to the Flatiron district. Inspired by the early 20th-century private clubs and mansions of New York City, the 41-story hotel blends old and new, mixing the rich history of the building with an elegant design sensibility.
The lobby is both warm and edgy with an amber bar (meant to resemble a hearth) and a sculptural spiral staircase at the far end. The rooms feature a soothing neutral palette, oak floors, wood-paneled foyers and spectacular views of the city.
Even though the neighborhood is home to many of the city’s best dining venues, the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Clocktower, is a hot spot of its own. Run by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton (the toque behind London’s chic Berners Tavern) and offering contemporary British dishes, the posh eatery features multiple dining rooms, each with its own color and theme and views of the park.
Who Should Stay
