"I'm always excited about the Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, but this year's line-up is particularly amazing, with Isabelle Huppert starring in Phaedra, in a production from Paris that debuts here in September, and Mikhail Baryshnikov playing Nijinsky, directed by Robert Wilson, in October. “I’m looking forward to the Whitby Hotel, Firmdale's newest property, which will be on W. 56^th Street. The hotel is set to open in late fall and will bring some of Kit Kemp's famous fun-loving design (she’s responsible for SoHo’s Crosby Street Hotel, an Indagare favorite) to Midtown.” ~ Samantha Rifkin

"I can't wait for the latest addition to Jean-Georges Vongerichten's farm-to-table empire, abcV. In the works for almost two years now, his all-vegetarian restaurant is on track to open this September in ABC Carpet & Home. "I can't wait to head up to the Catskills for a fall weekend at Hasbrouck House, the new hotel set in an 18th-century Dutch colonial building. “The team behind Cosme's sleek contemporary Mexican cooking will open Atla, a casual counterpart located in Noho. If Cosme's inventive and delicious food is any indicator of the food at Atla, a table there will be one of fall’s most desired reservations.” ~ Rose Allen

“I am excited to see how Danny Meyer reopens the New York classic, Union Square Café. Not only will he present a new take on the historic restaurant, but he will also be opening Daily Provisions next door, which promises to offer a "coffee shop– and bakery–by day and dinner party–by night." “This year's fall edition of TEFAF New York will include 93 dealers in fine art, design, furniture and jewelry, with featured pieces spanning antiquity through the early 20th-century. “Creative Time—the New York–based art non-profit organization that produces Tribute in Light, the twin beacons of light that first illuminated lower Manhattan six months after 9/11 and now do so every anniversary—will have en exciting new show this October. Doomocracy, a performance piece by Pedro Reyes, will run at the Brooklyn Armory Terminal and offer a provocative take on Halloween and the upcoming election.
