Columbia River Gorge

Thirty miles east of Portland, the Columbia River Gorge boasts miles of hiking trails and over 90 waterfalls. While the canyon is fun to explore and offers windsurfing, hiking, paddle boarding and a number of breweries for a post-hike indulgence (Full Sail Brewing is a favorite), the star attraction here is Multnomah Falls. The highest waterfall in Oregon, Multnomah drops 620 feet and is one of the most scenic spots in the state.
