Cabana

Dallas is known as a shoppers’ city, but the independent boutiques tend to be on the conservative fashion side. Not so Merry Vose’s delicious small Cabana (named for where it started, in a pool cabana). Located in a white house with a lavender door, the boutique is as welcoming as a home, with several rooms, comfy couches and chaises and a large glass bowl filled to the brim with lollipops in the middle of it all. Racks hold a well-edited mix of such lesser-known labels as Iro, Antik Batik, Eze Sur Mer, Mih Jeans and Layla. There’s also a fun selection of jewelry, belts and shoes (Repetto, Dolce Vita). The stock changes often, so every visit will turn up something different. Visits must be well-timed, however, since Vose proffers her trove solely on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M., and by appointment.
