Located in a stunning red rock canyon in Sedona Arizona, the 70-acre Enchantment Resort is great for families or for those who want to sample some of the spa services at sister property, Mii Amo.
Review
Opened in 1987 on a former private ranch, Enchantment Resort features a huddle of Southwest-style adobe casitas that line Arizona’s Boynton Canyon, not far from Sedona. A wonderful family resort, the property has many different accommodations, ranging from those with kitchenettes for practicality and even those with their own private pools. Each of the 218 rooms abides by an organic design scheme, with soothing earth colors, rugs inspired by basket weaving, and Native American ornaments adding personality to the simplistic décor.
Enchantment poses a wonderful family-friendly way to experience the destination spa at Mii Amo. Set just across the street from Enchantment, the 16-room retreat doesn’t allow children under 16, but guests above the age cutoff are welcome to enjoy spa treatments à la carte and make use of the facilities including a pool and health-focused café. Enchantment has three restaurants of its own.
Enchantment has a number of family activities inspired by the wellness hotel, so sub-16 children are able to get in-room massages, facials and make-up lessons (a teenage girls’ ultimate indulgence) as well as interact with many of the wellness experts from Mii Amo. In addition to a great kids’ club, there are numerous on- and off-property activities, with Sedona’s raw landscape providing ample excursions (hiking, mountain biking, nature walks) and the spa at Mii Amo available for relaxation. The sprawling property also features tennis courts, a putting green (and nearby golf course) and croquet and a host of daily activities, ranging from painting and nature walks to tennis clinics and star-gazing. It is also a great base for those who want to explore the Grand Canyon.
Indagare Tip
As Enchantment is quite large, guests who plan on using the spa should request a casita as close to Mii Amo as possible. This option also allows for guests to have more freedom to do other activities, such as visiting the nearby Grand Canyon.
Who Should Stay
Families who want a secluded vacation with plentiful active adventures, as well as opportunity for relaxation.
