Australia is home to some of the most iconic and unique wildlife on the planet, and while some species can be spotted in the wild, the Healesville Sanctuary in Victoria is where you can see them all. The center has been in operation since 1920 and is home to a successful breeding program for endangered marsupials (it is one of the only places to breed platypuses).

An hour outside of Melbourne, the Sanctuary is home to koalas, Tasmanian devils, emus, dingos and more. Although the center does not allow guests to hold the koalas, visitors can feed kangaroos and play with colorful wild birds.
