Botswana Butchery

One of Queenstown’s most stylish restaurants, housed in a historic cottage by the lake. The menu is meat-focused, but also has some nice seafood dishes. 17 Marine Parade

Ferburger

Queenstown’s answer to New York’s Shake Shack, serving burgers that have a similar cult following. There’s limited seating inside the casual burger joint and some more out front. 42 Shotover St.

Rata

Modern dining room and an often-changing menu that innovates New Zealand classics. 43 Ballarat St.

The Winery

Sample some 80 different New Zealand wines by the glass at this spacious wine bar/shop in walking distance to Eichardt’s. Charcuterie and cheese platters are served as well. 14 Beach St.

Vudu Café

Everyone’s favorite morning coffee comes from Vudu, in walking distance to Eichardt’s. There are piles of homemade pastries, and Fair-Trade coffee and teas. 23 Beach St.

Come here for some of the region’s best savory pies; particularly lamb and mint is a winner. 1 Buckingham St.
