Whether you’re honoring your first year of wedded bliss or decades spent together, an anniversary trip is one that should be truly special. Indagare has planned countless trips to such romantic destinations as the picture-perfect Thailand and far-flung French Polynesia, as well as to classic locales like Paris and the Amalfi Coast. One of our most extravagant anniversary journeys was a group trip to St. Tropez for the couple’s family and friends that included a surprise vow renewal ceremony on a yacht. With our assistance, another Indagare member planned an unforgettable evening in Italy to honor his 40th wedding anniversary. After driving Ferraris through Florence, the couple and two of their friends enjoyed a private, after-hours tour of the Uffizi Gallery and a four-course dinner in its art-lined halls.

The colorful rooftops of Lisbon
From a safari to a yacht charter to a river cruise through Portugal (we planned one of the latter for a group of 80 complete with a DJ, an on-board showing of Casablanca and daily land excursions), Indagare has arranged some incredible birthday celebrations for all budgets and sizes of groups. Tasked with designing a world-class birthday celebration for an Indagare client and 150 friends, our team of travel specialists pulled out all the stops for the ultimate weekend in Marrakech, complete with a traditional Moroccan birthday celebration and guided tours of the city’s best souks and museums. For another member’s 50th birthday, we arranged for a 70-person trip to Fiji, where the guests had the entire private island resort of Laucala to themselves. On a smaller but equally memorable scale, Indagare also organized a birthday trip to Tuscany for a small group of friends, during which they enjoyed a long weekend of wine tastings, bike trips and cooking classes. But not all birthday travels need to be to classic destinations; a recent journey we planned was a cross-country biking trip for an Indagare member and his wife, who biked from Seattle to Maine and had their children and friends pop in and join legs of the adventure.

Iceland’s Northern Lights
Graduations can be both exciting and terrifying, opening vast vistas of possibilities stretching into the future. They thus present the perfect moment in which to venture out and test one’s newfound independence. Many Indagare members have purchased Indagare travel credits or arranged a custom trip to such destinations as Iceland and Jordan to give as a gift to a recent graduate, be it for their son or daughter or a close family friend. Indagare’s own Avery Carmichael, who attended Duke University with her younger sister, embarked on a girls trip upon her graduation. Having enjoyed a close bond during their overlapping years at the school, Avery and her sister planned a three-week trip to Australia and New Zealand that brought them together in new ways. Avery remarked upon her return: “I’ve never felt so much mutual respect between us. The trust we now have in one another—especially as we faced some major fears like scuba diving and climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge—was borne out of this incredible travel experience. We enjoyed every moment. I so recommend taking a post-graduation trip, to really reflect upon one’s past, present and future.”

Multi-Generational Family Reunion

A family reunion trip can be as simple as three generations of women embarking on a long weekend in Paris or as over-the-top as a huge trip to Tanzania or the Philippines. With less than a month’s notice, one of our travel specialists recently arranged for a stunning villa for a multi-generational family on the Amalfi Coast. In addition to the house, which came staffed with housekeepers and a chef, Indagare set up activities including a guided tour of Pompeii, alfresco lunches at popular beach clubs and more. On a smaller scale, we have planned a weekend in New York City for a grandmother and her four granddaughters, complete with tickets to Hamilton, dinners at the city’s best bistros and a surprise cake to celebrate all four of the girls’ birthdays that year.
