How to Help Ukraine

Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine. The response around the world is proof that we live in a global community, and that travel remains one of the greatest forces for good in the world.

Of course, solidarity and messages of support are not the only ways to help. Below are several organizations that Indagare trusts to actively and responsibly provide critical aid to Ukrainian civilians on the ground.

How to Help Ukraine: Five Organizations We Trust

Care International

Care International works through its confederation of partner organizations to end poverty. In Ukraine, it is currently aiming to reach 4 million civilians with food supplies, water, cash assistance and hygiene kits, as well as mental health support. care.org

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)

UNICEF

This U.N. organization advocates “for the protection of children’s rights” around the world. It has been working in Eastern Ukraine for years, and is currently “stepping up emergency response efforts throughout the country, providing critical supplies, access to safe water, child protection and more.” unicef.org

U.N. Refugee Agency

This branch of the U.N. is devoted to the rights of asylum seekers, and helps civilians during times of crisis with emergency assistance (water, healthcare, shelter etc.). It also organizes transportation to refugees returning to their home countries, and coordinates income-generation assistance to refugees who remain abroad.  Now it is working with Ukraine’s neighbors to keep borders open and allow free passage for individuals fleeing the conflict. unrefugees.org

World Central Kitchen

Founded by chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen provides meals on the frontlines of humanitarian criss around the world. It is currently on the ground supporting local restaurants in Odessa and Lviv, and also in neighboring countries Poland and Romania, with more WCK teams arriving soon to Moldova, Slovakia and Hungary to support refugees. wck.org
