Calton Hill

Calton Hill, Edinburgh EH7 5AA, UK

This hill in the center of the city offers some of the most iconic vistas over Edinburgh (and you’ll see plenty of photographers setting up tripods on the hilltop at sunset). In addition to the views, there is a spacious park at the top of the hill, home to an observatory as well as the National Monument, which was inspired by the Athenian Parthenon and built to commemorate the Scots who died during the Napoleonic Wars.
