Off the Beaten Path
A small village about 40 miles north of the Faroese capital, Tóshavn, Gjogv is surrounded by mountains on all sides and home to a dramatic gorge. Located on the northeast tip of the island of Eysturoy, this quiet and idyllic town is a great hub for some of the Faroe’s best hiking and walking trails with endless views of the bountiful North Atlantic and surrounding islands. Post hike, visitors can indulge in the village's charming tea shop, Gjaargarour.
