Founded in 1990 by Dr. Armand Hammer and acquired by UCLA in 1994, the Hammer Museum boasts an art collection that includes pieces from contemporary Los Angeles-based artists, Renaissance drawings and an extraordinary compendium by French satirist Honoré Daumier. The Hammer also hosts numerous lectures, film series, readings and musical events.
