Hot-air Balloon Ride

When the weather is suitable, hot-air balloon rides are offered on the West Bank of the Nile at Luxor early each morning. Rides can be booked on a private or shared basis and generally leave around 6 am. The ride takes roughly forty minutes and, depending on the winds, guests float over the Colossi of Memnon or Queen Hatshesput’s Temple. It is a great way to see the Nile and admire the way its lush riverbanks starkly meet the desert that seems to go on forever. It is not for those who are afraid of heights.
