Igreja de São Francisco, Rua do Infante Dom Henrique, Porto, Portugal
Thanks to its centuries under construction, Igreja of São Francisco was Romanesque upon its conception, has a Gothic exterior and Baroque interiors, making it one of Porto’s most beautiful sights inside and out. This church was once part of the St. Francis convent which was founded in the 13th century.
A ticket to view the church includes access to the neighboring Palacio da Bolsa, the Stock Exchange Palace, built in the Neo-classical style in the 19th century after part of the original structure burned down. Here you can see beautiful paintings and frescos as well as catacombs where Franciscan monks are buried.
