Perched on the cliffs on the Moyenne Corniche road, this subtropical paradise contains about 1,000 species of succulent plants, including agaves, aloes and flowering cacti. You might find it a peaceful respite from Monte-Carlo shopping fatigue, although you’ll need to drive or take a bus or taxi to get there. For paleontology buffs, there’s also a prehistory museum, exhibiting Cro-Magnon skeletons from the Grimaldi Caves, plus a refreshingly cool stalactite- and stalagmite-filled grotto, formerly a Neolithic dwelling.
