Khao Sok National Park

Head north of Phuket to this rain forest thought to be older than the Amazon. In the valleys between the park’s jagged limestone mountains, listen for calls of the park’s animal life including long-tailed macaque monkeys, Malay sun bears and wild elephants. Paddle in a wide-bodied canoe keeping an eye out for monitor lizards and hornbills. Other popular activities at the park include swimming in Cheow Lan Lake, jungle river tubing and white-water rafting.
