Madrasat Addeera

In the building that formerly housed Saudi’s first school for girls, visitors will now find an arts and traditional crafts hub called Madrasat Addeera, where local Saudi artisans are schooled in heritage and craft. In 2019, the building was taken over by the Royal Commission of AlUla, who sponsors two charities in the space: Turquoise Mountain and the Prince’s Foundation. Students are taught skills in a variety of craft disciplines, from ceramics and pottery to jewelry and palm weaving. Indagare can arrange for a tour of Madrasat Addeera and, if school is in session, an opportunity to meet a few artisans.

Note: there is no shop on site; the Madrasat Addeera storefront is in the Old Town.
