Manial Palace Museum

Prince Mohamed Ali Palace (Al Manial Palace), السرايا, Old Cairo, Egypt

See Website

The Manial Palace and Museum is a former Alawiyya dynasty era palace that sits on Rhoda Island on the Nile. It is an easy-to-reach Cairo activity that’s for those interested in seeing the setting and lifestyle of the late 19th- and early 20th-century Egyptian royals. The Palace merges multiple Islamic styles (mainly Persian and Mamluk) and was inspired by Syrian, Moroccan, Ottoman and Andalusian motifs. The compound has five separate buildings—a mosque, hunting museum, throne hall and living quarters—all of which are distinctly styled and surrounded by well-groomed gardens.
