The National World War II Museum

945 Magazine Street New Orleans

504-528-1944

See Website

A visit to this museum is a must for history buffs and children alike. Selected as the country’s official World War II Museum, it leaves you feeling immersed in the history of the war, as well as the personal stories of those it affected. Don’t miss Beyond All Boundaries, a documentary produced by Tom Hanks and narrated by Hollywood’s elite for the museum. The 4-D cinematic experience is shown in an old-fashioned 1940’s style movie theatre. The chairs vibrate as tanks roll in and snowflakes fall on you to convey the harshness of winter battle. Be sure to book tickets in advance as seats go quickly, particularly on weekends.
