Petra Museum

Petra Museum opened in 2019 adjacent to the visitor’s center. It showcases antiquities of the Nabataean city of Petra and provides a good overview of the site. Most visitors will head to the museum after a long day in Petra seeking refuge in the air conditioning, but—if your schedule allows—it’s recommended to visit before entering the site, as the museum provides a short and helpful overview of Petra and the civilizations that inhabited the area.
