Arguably the most important Jewish museum in Europe, POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews opened in 2014 and details 1,000 years of Polish Jewish history. Located in what was the Warsaw Ghetto, the museum has striking architecture and the extensive main exhibit takes about three hours (there are great audio guides). Here, visitors can learn about Jewish life from the first settlement in Poland to the Holocaust (prior to World War II, Warsaw had the largest concentration of Jews in Europe) and current day. Don’t miss the reconstruction of the vibrant Gwoźdzeic synagogue in the main exhibit.
