Praça do Comércio

Praça do Comércio, Lisbon, Portugal

Praca do Comercio is integral to the Portuguese history (the country's last monarch Carlos I was assassinated here in 1908). Today, the square is one of Europe's largest and most beautiful, with gorgeous 18th-century arcades, lemon-yellow facades and stunningly preserved cobblestone streets. It also houses several delicious restaurants, including the legendary Café Martinho Da Arcada, which opened in 1782 and is the city's oldest café.
