Stock Exchange Palace (Palácio da Bolsa)

A major hub of commerce for the Iberian Peninsula in the 19^th century, Porto was an important city for its manufacturing and trade of port wine. The Palácio da Bolsa was built in the center of Porto, a Neoclassical, palace-like structure. While the building still holds business offices, the majority of areas are open to visitors. The Arab Room is decorated with Moorish-inspired motifs; the intricate carvings took 18 years to complete.
