Theatro Municipal

The single most beautiful building in the city is a showstopper: Styled after the Palais Garnier in Paris yet embracing a potpourri of architectural styles from Baroque to Art Nouveau, today it stands as one of the continent's most important cultural venues. The theater is home to São Paulo Municipal Symphonic Orchestra, the Coral Lírico (Lyric Choir) and the City Ballet of São Paulo. Free tours in English run Tuesday to Friday at 11am and 5pm and Saturday at noon.
