A museum dedicated solely to the works of the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, this is a must for art and culture lovers in Copenhagen. The museum is a work of art in and of itself, with brightly painted walls and ceiling murals to complement the Classical Greek and Roman inspired works. In addition to the vast collection of freestanding sculpture, there are stone friezes and reliefs, busts and Ancient Greek inspired pottery. The bottom floor has a small exhibit on Thorvaldsen’s life, and special exhibits are occasionally put on to complement his work.
